In my Redmi Note 8T (without root)  I didn't get the names of my contacts in Whatsapp after a few game patch. I rebooted and it was left in constant bootloop. In the end I had to wipe all data.

Can this be caused by re-enabling the MIUI optimization option in developer mode?

Take care if you have Xiaomi with MIUI layer.
